LC-01
Ziggy is designed around a balance of simplicity, structure, and visual rhythm. Its defining gesture comes from the rear leg, which angles outward to create a grounded stance before stepping back through the upper structure of the chair in a subtle zig-zag movement that gives the piece its name. This rear structure continues beyond the seat, crossing over at the point where the armrest protrudes before stepping back again to support the upper cushion and backrest assembly.
The relationship between these intersecting lines creates both the structural and visual identity of the chair — designed to appear simple at first glance, yet reveal more detail and intention the longer it is observed.
Considered from every angle, Ziggy is intended to sit openly within a space rather than against a wall, allowing the rear structure and joinery to become part of the visual experience. The wide stance and slight angle of the rear legs create a planted, grounded presence, while the generous upholstery softens the form into a relaxed seating experience suited to everyday living.
Constructed using traditional joinery methods and sustainably sourced hardwoods, each piece is made to order in Melbourne in small numbers.
